ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:

This is also still my voice
because of the Christen Press goal.

This is the voice that my friend
Marina said, Angela, if you don't

start podcasting, I'm gonna smack you
because you have the perfect voice.

I was like, listen, it's not
always like this, but when it

is is,

Oh, that was great.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: May, playing
Saturday May 17th at PayPal Park.

It's gonna be at 7:00 PM 'cause Yay.

We're finally on the same time zone.

the match is gonna be
broadcast on I on tv.

It's gonna be broadcast on
the radio with iHeartRadio,

so go listen, Isaac and Tracy.

If you don't have streaming
capabilities anywhere around I on TV

means that you can probably catch it
at a bar, which is gonna be great.

Speaking of that, City does have an
official watch party and it's going to

be at one of the greatest places ever.

Watch me.

Sports Bar, pre-game and party
is all gonna start at 6:00 PM

the kickoff starts at seven.

They have gotten so much better and
smoother with all their service and all

their events that they've been having.

So, you know,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Get there early though.

Angel City fans pack that place.

If you want a table, if you wanna
get your order in and get it, enjoy

it, get there five and just kick it.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
yeah, yeah, just cake it,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Just kick it

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: drinks.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
everybody like Jax is great.

Everybody at Watch Me is great.

I'll be there next weekend.

Is it next weekend?

Yeah, next weekend for
a lunch break event.

So that's why I can't come to
your, your birthday bar crawl.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Oh, scandal.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah, but I, I like Skip.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: telling me right

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
I know.

I'm telling you right now.

I'm sorry.

So you have to be nice to me.

No, it's, it's because I'm an
ambassador for lunch break.

I've talked about lunch break,
I think once on the, on the pod

before it's, a newer network for
female athletes from like college

pro, semi-pro, whatever you did.

and they're doing a LA meetup and
since I'm like an official ambassador

for the platform, I gotta be there.

I don't have to, but I want to be there.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: No, I mean,
that's, that's a pretty cool and

legit thing to be missing it for.

So that is completely fine.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
I guess,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: and if
anybody out, you out there, out, you,

if anybody out there the description
that Angela just gave about.

Collegiate athlete, go like d DM us
and Angela will give you the, the info.

and I think it, I mean, it sounds
like a cool event, so I mean, if, if

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

It's honestly, we're just gonna
be hanging out at launch break

for the most launch break.

Oh my God.

At Watch me for the most part.

The launch break folks will be
at watch me on the 24th, 25th.

Gee, I don't, oh my God.

We'll, I'll make sure to, to talk
about it next week, but if you

are, an athlete, collegiate and
up, hit me up if you wanna join.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
That's it.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: All right.

Well, we said, we have,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
There's a lot to talk about.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: talk about.

So, you know, we'll just kind of get
it started with the one thing that

we were all, super worried about and

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
and at just got information,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
breaking news.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: not too long ago.

it was posted, but we all had Savvy
King in our thoughts, after that match.

So, I'll, I'll let you get started with
the thoughts as I pull up the statement.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah, because Mario's gonna read the

statement from the team and S'S family
because I can't, we all know I will

just blubber my way through it, but the
long short of it is our girl's gonna

make it and that's what really matters.

But go ahead and read that and then
I'll jump in with all the other stuff.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: So the update
from the statement from the team is

Sak King was admitted to Cedar-Sinai
Medical Center on Saturday morning after

receiving immediate care at California
Hospital Medical Center, following a

medical incident during Friday night's.

Angel City match after thorough
evaluations evaluation.

Doctors discovered a heart
abnormality savvy underwent successful

surgery today to address it.

She's now resting and recovering
surrounded by family, and

her prognosis is excellent.

are incredibly thankful for the
outstanding medical care she has

received and the overwhelming
support from our community.

We kindly ask for your continued respect
for Savvy's privacy as she focuses on

healing and the message from S'S family.

On behalf of our entire family, along
with Savvy, we have been so moved by

the love and support from Angel City
players, staff, fans, and community, as

well as soccer fans across the country.

We are blessed to share.

Savvy is recovering well and are looking
forward to having her home with us soon.

want to thank the incredible Angel City
medical staff and the players who acted

swiftly as well as the medical teams that
have given her so much exceptional care.

We will never forget the
kindness and care you've shown.

Our gratitude is endless in moments
like these we're reminded in God's

constant presence and protection.

Thank you for all.

Thank you all for lifting.

Savvy up in your prayers.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
I, that's it.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

you know, that's all we have.

We, you know, we're not going to go off
on some tangent about speculation of

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
No.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: issue is.

The important thing here is she is
safe, she's recovering and we are still

sending her all the positive vibes.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah, and four seasons of

corner kicks have paid for this.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: yes.

it was, it was,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
It was awful.

Being at the stadium I

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
There's been so many.

News reports and video media coverage,
all this stuff that I've seen and read.

And so I don't even know where the hell
I saw it, but, there was a mention on,

it was probably Han's, article, but it
was a, just the fact that with the new

CBA, with the additional protections
for the team, with the additional

requirements for medical staff and
things like that, you know, couple years

ago this might have ended differently.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
a hundred percent.

A hundred percent.

And that's

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: and,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
But also like I'm, I'm so happy that we

have, the players have these protections.

The league has grown in
a way, but also what?

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: yeah.

Yeah,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
And the hardest thing is collectively

as a whole, I'm pretty sure everybody
across the world, across sport, across

everything is in agreement, which is
like the rarest thing in the world,

that the game should not have ended,
like the game should have ended.

there's different conversations and
reasonings as to why it did and, or, you

know, why it resumed, and why, why, why,
but my, so the rule is that if the game

is at the 75th minute or after the ref
can essentially call the game if there's

a serious incident, injury, whatever,
and say, okay, the game, it's, it's done.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: I believe
the ref has the power at that

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

At that point, the ref has the power.

Anytime before then
it's a league official.

And savvy went down in like
73rd and a half minute.

Like what?

Why?

Why did they have to depend
on a league official?

and granted both teams can also
say no, we're gonna continue

and kind of overrule it.

But I wanna know, and this is my own
speculation and I've thought it since

that night, like being there, if this
game had been on the East coast and it

was played at seven 30 East coast time,
like where the league office is, all

that kind of stuff, would the league
have made the call to call the game?

But because this was at what, almost
9:00 PM Pacific, like midnight east coast

time where, who was the league official?

Like where was this person?

'cause very, really, truly, I was
gutted that the game continued.

Granted, it was cool, we won Hooray, but.

At what cost?

At what cost?

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: And then, well,
I will, I mean, of that, there's a lot

of thought opinions articles about,
why did we, why was the game continued?

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: there
has been some reporting that said

that the teams were consulted
and were okay with proceeding.

So

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
because, and I, I forgot to mention

this earlier, if the game is called
before the 70th fifth 75th minute,

it's called like inconclusive.

Like the game like isn't over and
you effectively have to replay it.

But there is always the overruling
league official that can be

like, nah, we're straight.

We're good.

The game is over, and that's
what should have happened.

And I understand you don't, that's
a, that's one of those rules that.

like when Mario becomes permutation,
primo, and gets deep into these

tiebreakers and all the crazy stuff,
that's when this rule comes into play.

you never wanna get to that point,
but if you do and you like, call

a game three minutes before the
75th minute, who gives a shit?

Frankly,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: yeah,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
like nobody's gonna care of three

minutes if somebody is having
a life crisis on the pitch.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: the, the

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Meg Linehan
had, and I'm gonna quote from

hers, was, referee Alexandra Bel

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Biller.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: biller checked
in with both teams during the delay

and gave the players extra time before
resuming the match, which is encouraging,

but she never had any final say on
whether the game would resume or not.

And then later on.

Pointed out if King had gone down four
or five seconds later, the game clock

would've ticked over to the 75th minute.

And the match could have been
called according to lead protocol.

It was just a matter of seconds.

And I think she ends the
article with protocols.

There's times when protocols
should be protocols and protocols

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: suggestions.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
And this one was a suggestion, like this

is one of those things like I don't, I
think it was in either the article or

a quote from the podcast that Meg did
of just sometimes it's okay to make

a mistake and call something early,
because sometimes it's not a mistake.

Like there's, there's a gray area
in every rule, no matter how black

and white you try and make it.

This is one of those times and it's
okay, so like I said, if you call

game two minutes early, whatever.

No, no.

Like the players, the coaches,
nobody's gonna be upset about that.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: yeah.

So with, with all of that,
I mean, I do, I do question,

Like 99% of this is questioning

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: and

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
the hell happened there?

And we've seen this not only
the NWSL, I think it was like,

it was like a year ago, right?

everybody was kind of
referencing, another incident.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Two years ago it was

DeMar Hamlin on the bills.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
Two, two, oh, no, no, no.

I was talking about in the N Ws L

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Oh.

yeah.

Well there's been a few.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: yeah.

but then, but then everybody also
referencing like the, the NFL and

the, and you know, the, the issue

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: they were just
like, they just fucking called the game.

So,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
There's no, like, when something is that

tragic and somebody is going through
something as serious as DeMar Hamlin did,

as Savvy did, it's, it's beyond sport.

It's beyond.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: and we have,
I mean, we have the, the big scare of,

And this wasn't the first thing, but
it was the, one of the ones where it

was like, because of all the medical,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: should have
looked this up, so I had something to

actually like, reference and talk about,
but the, from, what's it, Croatia?

No, it wasn't Croatia.

the guy that basically just had a full on
heart attack, during international play,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Proud.

Oh

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: they were able

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
him because of the new port

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
the portable AEDs, which honestly

should be in every workplace,
every restaurant, every place you

go there should be portable AEDs.

I, I kind of joke about it to kind
of add levity to the situation,

but, and I was talking to Yesi,
who's one of our listeners about

it, who's an E-M-T-C-P-R is the one
skill you wanna have and never use.

First aid care is something
you never want to have to like.

Employ and she said, you know, I've,
I've performed CPR for better, for worse.

I've done these things and
yeah, who wants to do that?

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Like when we, when we had our training

at work a couple years ago, like
we're up for to get it re-upped this

year, but like one of the guys who
no longer works for the company for a

variety of reasons, but was like, yeah,
I can't wait to actually use this.

And I like flipped out.

I was like, what the
hell is wrong with you?

This is this thing.

You wanna have this skill
and let it go to waste.

This is the one thing you wanna
learn and never touch again.

Never touch, never use, never have
to, you know, reach back in the

crevices of your brain to remember
like the cadence of chest compressions.

Like you don't wanna have to do that.

Exactly.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
everybody backstreet's back.

there's a few, there's some good ones.

I think it was hot to go.

I think hot to go qualifies as one.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: no.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
but no, I'll also shout out to the Seattle

Reign for holding up Savvy's kit, like
a, a Seattle Reign savvy King Jersey.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
before the game this weekend.

It was amazing.

And I just kind of like wanna
make a very broad statement of

just remember when stuff like this
happens, we all want the update.

We all want, the breaking news that

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yes.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
You know, there's a, a health

update, we know what's going on,
it's been fixed or what have you.

But these aren't on a schedule.

They're not a scheduled pre-made post of
game highlights or anything like that.

Bodies are so wonderfully
self-sufficient and self.

Fixing and all our bodies are magic.

They're so cool.

There's stuff that we still don't
understand about the human body, but

at the same time, they're so fickle
and they're so fragile and like the

schedule that we're able to get updates
on a player's recovery or an update on

their health after a tragic event like
this, like it, there's so many reasons

why they aren't immediately put out.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: I mean, the

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
There was

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: being privacy.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
exactly like it's

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
just these are people at

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Exactly,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: I'll
talk about it now, but thank you.

We, we want to give a shout out to, to
Zach, one of our listeners who was a

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah.

Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: during the
match, during the incident that,

some Utah fans were, heckling.

Right.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
And they've been heckling

throughout the game, which, whatever

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: the game.

Yeah.

that's, that's kind of,
you know, that's kind of

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
it's gonna happen.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
it's gonna happen.

Like you heckle the refs,
you heckle the, the players.

Like that's, that's a thing, right?

Heckling is different from, from
being derogatory or being racist.

Right.

There's a big fucking difference

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: But they were
heckling, they were doing it throughout

the game, but Savvy goes down, is
a medical team on there, they are

doing compressions, and they're still
heckling and they're still yelling,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
stop faking it.

that's not it guys.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

And so, Zach stepped in, you
know, confronted them about it.

more people kind of got, in,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
They got security involved.

They got,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: security

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: escorted out.

So we don't know what happened to them
afterwards, if they got completely

kicked out of the stadium or what

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
I'm sure.

I'm sure they did because just
code of conduct in general,

like you don't do that.

That's ugh.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: come on.

People have just fucking decency.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: these
are, these are people, they're,

yes, they're players, they're your
team, but they're, they're people.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
give them their privacy.

Let them recover the way they
are, you know, all the people

that were, like hankering for,
for Christen Press to be back.

It's look, we've talked about
it a lot where it was like she's

recovering needs to recover, right?

Savvy's gonna recover
as she needs to recover.

And with something, with a

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Don't expect to see her again this season.

No,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: no.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
and

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: issue.

Like you don't

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah, you don't rush that.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: that's
not something you like, oh, I

bruised my leg again, no, you know,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
And like you also have to remember

too, that when something is like an
active situation the way this was,

you have to wait until it's safe.

Until you, you're kind of in the clear, or
not necessarily in the clear that you're.

Like past the scariest part to release
that update because if you, if you

put out an update that everything's
fine and then shit goes south,

that's worse than no update at all.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: yeah.

Yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Even on a personal level.

I'd rather wait to get the actual
update than, oh yeah, everything's fine.

Just kidding.

You know, the worst thing
ever has happened, but

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
good on the medical staff.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
thank you.

Yeah.

And, and thank you.

And we're gonna talk about it a little
bit later too, but thanks for Megan Reed

and her EMT training and helping the team.

and like we joke that even I notice it,
a lot of other people notice it, like

when somebody goes down on the pitch
or something happens, like Megan's

the first one there, if she's on the,
you know, between the lines, like

she's there, she knows how to fix it.

she's I got this, don't worry about it.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

First responder.

Always a first responder.

she's

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
It's ingrained in your

system at that point.

And to, to take her emo, be able
to take her emotions out of the.

The situation and explain and to
be there for the team and to settle

everyone just enough to get through the
next hour credit where credit is due.

It's a very hard thing to do.

Not everybody knows how to
respond in an emergency.

Some people freak out, some people
break down, some people take action.

there's so many different ways to
respond in a situation like that.

I'm very much the, we will figure
this out, I'll take care of it.

This is what's going on.

I'm the explainer.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Mm-hmm.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
I taped up my own wrist on the

side of the 91 freeway than
the night of my car accident.

Like I'm, I'm a different level
of, I probably should have

been an EM emt, but whatever.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Fucking
bear grills out here, just

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
oh no, I did it with the EMTs 'cause

the guy did it wrong and I shook it off.

I was like, do you even
know how to tape a wrist?

And the senior EMT was like,
oh, you think you can do it?

And I looked at him and
I said, I know I can.

And he was like, cool.

Tosses me a roll of tape.

I tape up my wrist and I throw it back to
him and he was like, do you want a job?

And I was like, no.

But turns out it was that guy's first
day and Sorry, sir, out there somewhere.

Paramedic man.

Thank you for your service.

Sorry to embarrass you.

I was 18 and stressed, but savvy.

Savvy is gonna make it through.

Our community is gonna be okay, but we
have another reason to do it for our girl.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

Yeah.

with that, you get a chance to

take a CPR class,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

Go get CPR certified if anybody
wants to and doesn't know how.

Hit us up.

I will get you information.

It's, it's relatively easy.

It's relatively inexpensive.

Sometimes your work will pay for it.

You might get a bonus or something
like that, depending on what you do.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
it's just exceptionally important.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: I, I worked
with kids, like since, since high

school, like I was a, after school summer
camp and like school camp, so I had

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

You have to, you.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: all the time.

But that's the, again, the one
thing you just don't want to be

like, I don't ever want to use

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Mm-hmm.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: I'm
gonna do this every year and re,

re-up and kind of make sure that I
remember, but I don't want to use

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
I don't ever want to use it.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah,
especially on a little kid, I'm

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
No.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: that'd be, yeah.

It is a horrible situation to
be able to, to have to do that.

So if you, you know, if you have time,
find out, find out from the local

Red Cross, like where you can take a
class, find out from the local like

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Heart association in your hospitals?

yeah.

Whatever.

Like I said, if you don't know where
to look, let us know and we'll, we'll

steer you in the right direction.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: and, and
you'll find out, you know, where Michael

Jackson came up with Billy, Billy Jean,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Oh yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
Annie, are you okay?

That's

okay.

So with that, I'm

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
The next awkward thing

we get to talk about is

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Is the NWSL and

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
not knowing their fans.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
being like, what the fuck?

so.

If you have not heard, I am sorry
of making you aware of this.

if you have heard, you are
probably in two camps, one of me

and then in the other camp of, do
you not know who your fans are?

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
the NWSL has partnered with?

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Do you want me to give the background.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah, because the
thing is, I'm, I was, part of my rant here

was that like I am not her demographic,
so I don't know really anything about her.

The only reason I know about her
is because of how stupid this is,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Okay, so the NWSL has partnered

with Alex Cooper and her new
venture of unwell products, which

are like post night out electrolyte
rehabilitation rehydration situations.

the brand is unwell and is called unwell.

And for those of you who don't know,
you've probably seen clips of Alex

Cooper's podcast called Call Her
Daddy on Instagram, TikTok, whatever.

She's interviewing people.

She's a decent interviewer.

I'm like, no, no shade there.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: what she's doing.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
But

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: she got her

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
the hard part is the association

with and continued support of,
even though she's no longer a part

of Barstool, but Barstool and Dan
Partnoy, Barstool ISS notorious for

like derogatory things towards.

Women, women's sports,
like all kinds of stuff.

the call her daddy podcast started
as a, is here, is he not cheating?

Like a, like a fun kind of thing.

It was her and another woman.

There were contract issues.

Alex essentially ended up with all of the,
the ip, the intellectual property of call.

Her daddy went on out on her own after
being part of Barstool for a while, and

it's kind of shifted the, the show a
little bit and a lot of her stuff, I want,

I wanna be able to enjoy it so much and
I can't because I, I have barsol blocked

on every single social media network
and that's really difficult because I.

So much of the content I consume
is sports related, and people will

send me stuff and did you see this?

And I'm like, no.

Was it on Barstool?

And they're like, yeah.

And I was like, I don't, I do not partake.

I do not, I do not do that.

Because they're also notorious for
giving you $10 for your, your content

and then making a shit ton of money
off of it, and you get none of it.

So, yeah.

But what the NWSL has done is
created a big fat air quotes around

league supporters group that is
essentially popping up at different

games to ideally bring new fans in.

There's discounted tickets.

They're all kinds of thing.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: It.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
It's a, it's a marketing activation

and it's okay to call it that.

It's a, it's a popup.

It's not a supporters group.

I'm gonna let Mario rant now,
but I just wanted to get the,

the main point across of.

I'm unsure of how this is gonna
go because I don't trust anything

adjacent to Barstool and the folks who
enjoy Barstool content at this point.

There's been enough stuff.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: So with
all of that background, yes.

What has been developed with the
NWSL is this Supporters group.

This is a quote from, Jessica
Berman, the, the person at the NWSL.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
president of the league,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: there I was like

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
the commissioner,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: don't

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
she's the league commission,

she's the commissioner.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: the,
she's the person up there.

She's the one that didn't
call the fucking game.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Mario's Mad guys.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: and
a partnership with, with the,

the, the call her daddy woman.

and

I, I get it.

I get it.

It's, it's, two things can be true,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yes.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Total
marketing spectacle, right?

You do, you boo boo.

You have created an a, a
that has become very popular.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: you've gone
the route of other podcast influencer

video, YouTube, people that have been
like, I'm gonna make a sports drink.

Cool.

Make your money, get your bag.

Who am I to judge?

I'm not the one making the money.

So good for you.

You do.

You boo boo.

And it's great that the idea is your
audience is going to be exposed to

the NWSL potentially bringing in new
fans, new revenue, new, new people.

Cool.

Do we the whole who your audience is?

Maybe, maybe not.

Whatever.

I'm not gonna judge on that.

Jessica Berman has called her
like her Gen Z whisperer, which

just fucking cringey already.

it's a, it's a marketing spectacle.

Call it a marketing spectacle.

Don't co-opt.

What makes the fan base?

The fan base

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
supporters groups.

Supporters groups are
independent for a fucking reason.

I.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Right.

They are independent because they
are pouring blood, sweat, and tears.

They are supporting the team.

They are doing things, they are

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
They're building the

community around the team.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: the community.

They're, engaging in activism against
things that need to be stood up

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Mm-hmm.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: are in
a sense, the backbone of a lot of

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Of
all the teams essentially.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

And that's not just in
the NWSL women's soccer.

That's soccer

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
the world.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: across the world.

for you, the head of an entire league
to be completely fucking tone deaf

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: and
try to co-opt something that is.

From its core independent, there is a
fucking independent supporters' council

all sgs are part of, and you're putting a
marketing spectacle around it, and you're

being like, Ooh, this is gonna be fun.

This

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: a

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Like they, it could have

literally been named anything
else, and it would've been fine.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: you know what?

Naming it unwell fc,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
That's fine too.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
That's not a problem.

The fact that you are tying

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yes.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: FC to
a supporter's this is the league

supporters group that is stupid Tom Deaf.

You know what?

You still have time.

You haven't had the

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Balls, FC redid balls, FC redid stuff.

You have till Friday,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: You have till

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Saturday, or actually Saturday night.

You have till Saturday night to fix this.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: You have
till Saturday to call a duck.

A duck.

Like it, it, it's a marketing spectacle.

It's a marketing

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
And you can say we're doing

an activation with this brand.

We're discounting tickets in this section.

You know, it's gonna be a whole thing
that's been done plenty of times before

and nobody's mad because it's not taking
something that is so special to the

communities that support a team and
like degrading the quality of that.

you know, we, we have done so much work
with our supporter groups with Angel City.

Like we don't really talk about it,
that we met through a supporter groups

because it, which one doesn't matter.

It's the fact that this is the
community the team has brought together.

Like Mario and I were complete strangers.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
And I bullied him essentially

into becoming my co-host.

But we have become such good
friends like family through a random

decision to sign up three, four
years ago for a supporters group.

And the friends we've made the
you know, we had Ruby saying that

Mosaic had people getting married.

She's gone to weddings of Mosaic members.

She's we have so many people who
are making connections and, and

getting each other to games and
getting each other through life.

the pots were talking about.

how they had helped like folks
financially or getting to work

when somebody didn't have a ride.

Like people show up for people in
supporter groups, like they become

a second family across sport.

I genuinely wish like more, more sports
that I enjoyed had similar fan bases.

Like the Dodgers have Pantone 2 94,
but it's more like excursion based and

It's not this communal sense of like
grassroots community building and it's

so special and it, it's honestly I think
the visceral reaction comes from the fact

that it feels like borderline offensive.

That it's like, how dare
you come into our space?

First of all, you're coming into our
space and then saying, oh no, we're this.

It's but you've never even been here.

Like she doesn't even go here.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
that I was just like, okay,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: and we've,
and we've talked about this and

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
is not being like, oopsie.

We didn't, we didn't get it.

It's no, you do fucking
get it, because this has

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
because the second it was announced like

a month and a half ago, people were pissed
and have just progressively gotten up.

More upset.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: and did you
not hear all the backlash and all the,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Mm-hmm.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: are fucking
gross about Kansas City naming

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Naming their support.

Oh, naming their supporter section.

That is for the supporter groups to do.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah,
laa a, a name that derived

from the, the groups, right?

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: a thing
like, it's called something

else for when, when LAFC plays

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yep.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
because it is something else.

That's what it is.

It's not a

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
It's not the same thing.

Like it's so different.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: thing.

So

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: you can't
claim oopsie ESP for not knowing

that one because it's happened
before and you're like, there was a

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: on that.

And two, you're the head
of the fucking league.

I

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Sorry.

Vera's mom.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: like
I, I get, I get that there is

is a sense of like marketing fc.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Mm-hmm.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
gotta, you gotta sell what you

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
As fans of Marketing fc, don't do this.

This is how you don't market
to market marketing fc.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: if, if
anybody ever wondered how the sgs do.

The amazing TFOs that they do that do
the, the donation drives, the, the support

for teachers, for, kids for the school

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: The, they've done
women, like the, sanitary product, drives.

They've done stuff for
like homeless shelters,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Oh, they've done so much.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: All of those
things have been up, run by and donated

by those sgs and from those groups.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Like by the thousands of people

that are in the, the sgs.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: the
teams don't have anything.

The, as far as the teams are
involved, are maybe being able to

get out the message to a broader

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Mm-hmm.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: They
are not involved with the

production, with the effort, with

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: they do.

it's not their show.

Right.

It's, it's the SGS and what they do.

So you co-opting

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: that is so.

Crucial to team, to the sport

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: and, and support.

yes, not everybody in the stadium
is part of an sg and that's okay.

But guess what?

You're also selling in your
marketing and stuff like that.

You're selling images of that

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Mm-hmm.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: images of those
flags and you're selling, you know,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

So

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Okay, well
with all of that, NWSL, all of you

decision makers, think about it.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah, I,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
listen to the fan base.

Listen to who are buying your tickets.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah.

And also when you're partnering
with people and groups.

And this is a, a conversation that was
part of the, the panel I went to at Angel

City headquarters of what happens when a
partnership, when people are upset about a

partnership, like how does a team respond?

How does the league respond?

Like in this case, who are, who's
the demographic for this partnership?

Because are you also bringing in
people, and this is my fear because

of the Barstool correlation, are you
now bringing in people who are going

to put players' wellbeing in jeopardy?

We have an immense amount of
queer players, international

players, immigrants, don't,
there's too much at stake right

now to put their safety at risk.

And it's not that I don't
want more fans coming in.

It's not that I don't want
more people watching the NWSL.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: We're not

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
I want people who are there.

To be part of the community
and like I want them to, to be

there on their own volition.

Not because they wanna see like
some famous person like, come, come

for the game, come for the team.

Come because your friends are going
like, come for a reason outside of an ad.

But that's just me and it is
what it is and it, it sucks but

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
I'm hoping everything goes well

up in the bay this weekend.

And safety is a precaution.

And I will get the details 'cause I'm
sure my friend Sarah will be there.

She has Susan tickets.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: We know.

We know, we know plenty of people

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: going,
we know plenty of people in

the SGS that are actually going
up there to the, to the match.

and

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
And I hope that it's the

Bridge Brigade right up at BFC.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

I hope they show out.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah, they,
I mean the, the unwell tickets are

literally like one section over

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
so it's on the same side.

It's, I, I, yeah.

So please League n Ws l just
rethink what you're doing.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
what you're doing.

I'm not saying get rid of

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah.

Just reframe it as something
different and not a supporter group.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: reframe
it and know your audience.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Mm-hmm.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: I, I'm not
the demo that is going to unwell

fc, but then also I am the demo that
is giving you money for my season

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah, exactly.

Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: do you want
the one time buyer of the unwell

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Right.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: coming
because of, because of the podcast,

or do you want my season ticket?

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
balance that Right.

I, I, I don't have the answer for you.

of do, but

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
But,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: you

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
and the hard part is that there could be

people who come and then end up signing
up for ticket packages or whatever,

and that's what they're banking on from

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
like the marketing standpoint, but.

Don't disrespect the people
who have been there from, who

got your team off the ground.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Like that's, that's really the thing.

And the funny part is that we haven't
even gotten to the Chaos award yet and

we're 40 minutes in 35, whatever it is.

so yeah, that's that on savvy
and the unwell situation.

I am unwell regarding it,
but chaos, award time guys.

So there's three things.

Three, the Portland, San Diego, PK Heroics
last minute, like that game was bonkers.

If you watch, if you haven't, feel free
to go back on NWSL plus and rewatch it.

It was insane.

my coworkers a Thorn's fan
'cause he's from Oregon and

he was like, did you say it?

I was like, no.

I was doing stuff.

it was Mother's Day like,
or not Mother's Day.

It was day before Mother's
Day, but I was busy.

yeah, it was a bonkers game.

And it ended up as a draw it.

The clips I've seen, like this
is why the NWSL is just sheer

chaos and I love it for it.

The other crazy thing is that she who
hath retired, was never fully retired.

The, the Marta has gotten the call
up for the Brazil national team for

this international window coming up
and everyone is losing their absolute

shit, like shortest retirement ever.

I love this.

What is happening?

I don't know.

I don't care.

That team is insane.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: do question.

Do you think knew she
was getting the call up,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Well,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: think it was
them just putting the name in and being

like, look, we put your name down.

You got, you gotta be part of it now.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
no, they're, she's, she's the

female Pele deemed by Pele.

Yes.

She knew.

She's like the World Cup
ambassador for Brazil.

Yes.

She knew.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
yeah, I'm just saying.

I'm just saying

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
It's Marta.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: it

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Of course she did.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
was her decision to,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Oh yeah.

And honestly, the way she's
playing, she's aged backwards.

So good for her, honestly.

It's crazy.

and then if you're in the Discord,
this is the third and final thing.

You know that we have emotional
support group, you know, we have

or juice pouches since we're
not sponsored by Capri Sun yet.

But if you are in the discord, you
know that I went to the grocery store

this weekend and I picked up two, two
bottles of Capris Sun, a fruit punch,

capric sun that I now have in a cup.

I can have an adult portion of
Capri Sun, my cup, my glasses is

all drippy 'cause I have ice in it.

But if you're watching on video,
this is a 32 ounce mason jar.

It's 10 45 on a Tuesday night,
and I'm running on three

and a half hours of sleep.

I, I have, this is the only
Capri Sun I've had today.

Don't freak out.

I haven't had caffeine since 1130, but.

I am, it's weird.

It feels weird to be
drinking this out of a cup.

Like I feel, you know what it feels like,
it feels like I took a bunch of Capri

Suns and made them into jungle juice and
cut them outta the pouch, but I didn't.

It's just regular.

But your girl's real happy that I now
have, free flowing Capri Sun in my house.

I also have like pouches amongst pouches
of Capri Sun, but that's the Chaos Award.

Friends

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: All right.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
this weekend was nuts and we

made it through collectively.

So, here's the roundup of all the scores.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Quick
Roundup, Louisville Beat Gotham

went to, went to nothing.

Washington beat Chicago three to two.

North Carolina and Orlando tied.

so did Portland and San Diego
as we were just talking about.

Casey beat Bay four to one and
Houston got a win over Seattle,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Whoa.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: one to nothing.

And with all that, we're not gonna spend a
ton of time because we know what happened.

We know the Scoreline, we know what was
more important about what happened this

week, an R match, but we did have a win.

And three points, with a win
over the Utah Royals two to zero.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Woohoo.

So we, we came out hot.

I'm just gonna say I am.

So like in the discord, text
messages, all kinds of stuff.

Easily one of the best games
in English, Lydia has played.

We didn't let up on the gas.

It was all gas, no breaks,
exactly what we were hoping for.

Pressure in the box, pressure to score.

It was one of those where something
was half an inch off for the whole

first half, so we couldn't score.

And that's okay.

We went in halftime, tied up at nothing.

Just just chilling.

okay, we had a great first half.

We just had to continue and score
one more goal and not let them score.

Christen Press got subbed
in before the 80th minute.

Everyone lost our collective minds.

It's why my voice is a little deeper.

She actually had time on the pitch.

It was a miracle.

And obviously, so she came in in
like the 65th minute and it only,

she would've been in sooner, but the
ball like was in continuous play.

So nothing, there was no whistle.

We came in and 14 seconds
later, it was like 24 seconds.

Something ridiculous.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: It is.

I've, the broadcast said
22, a replay later said 24.

So

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Under 30 seconds.

Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Let's just say

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

23 seconds after she comes in,
we're in the attacking third

and she, Christen presses.

Shit out of this ball.

Like I will address this again
later, but it felt very Christ.

I press, what have you done?

if you know, you know, and if
you don't, I'll explain later.

It had the vibe, it had the goodness,
it had the juice, it had the sauce,

it had everything you needed to have
to remind certain people who forgot

she was on the bench, who she is.

And then everything happens 10 minutes
later, 20 minutes later, game restarts

in the millionth minute or really
quick, four seconds after she scores

that goal, they get the ball, like we
go back to the midfield, kick it off.

She immediately like scores again.

The goal gets called back because
there's a foul, except it was the

goalie hitting her own player.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
Yeah, that was a stupid call.

that shouldn't have

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
She should have had two

goals in under two minutes.

Like it, the final score should be three.

Nothing.

Everybody agrees.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: I also,
I also think it was a really funny

goal just because it was like, sh

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Oh, she put that.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: feet, shuffle

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: And
then she got it out and I'm

like, dude, that's just fucking

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
It was amazing.

And it was from like the exact same spot.

Like it was, it was crazy.

But that goal shouldn't
have been called back.

Everybody knows it.

The ref probably knows it.

and then

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
the, on the broadcast.

Like you see her go straight to the ref
and be like, you know, that was good.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
right.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: you kind
of see the ref being like, I,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Whatever.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: I just can't.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
So, so bad.

there was a lot of odd calls.

but then every, the game stops, game
restarts, 90th, minute plus seven.

We've played over a hundred
minutes at this point.

And

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
12 minutes of stoppage.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah, it went longer, but.

It was the closest to the
minimum time as you could get to.

It was like the second, the
ball was like in no man's land.

It was like two, two.

Everybody go home.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
but Alyssa scored in the 90 plus seven

minute and it was an amazing goal.

Christen had the assist.

She put this girl on skates.

I don't even know who was guarding her.

'cause I don't remember off the top
of my head, but this is the nastiest

Christen Press move I've ever seen.

the whole night was Christen
Press, what have you done?

And it was like, am It was amazing.

'cause she put that girl on skates,
she slides out of bounds, just goes

for the tackle and doesn't stop.

Just like it's fricking, I don't
know, I, I don't even know.

She just kept going.

It felt like forever.

gets bottle.

Alyssa, Alyssa cooks it,
kicks it like it was just so,

it was needed.

It was like a pressure release valve.

I mean, the CP goal was, I lost
my, there was like guttural

cries coming from the crowd.

It was insane.

hence my voice.

And then Alyssa scored and it was just
like so assertive of just everything

is bad and we're gonna win this game.

You cannot tell me otherwise.

And it was beautiful.

there's a note that Mario was
worried that Christen Press was

gonna hurt her ankle with all of the
momentum and direction changes and,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Not, not all
of them, it was just that one particular

one where she scored it was, she saw
what she saw and started booking it.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yep.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: from the
camera angle of the broadcast,

'cause I was watching it at home.

From that camera angle.

Like she saw what she saw on the
field and she took off and everybody

saw and was like, get her the ball.

And she had it and yeah,
she stopped on a dime.

Right.

And cut it back.

But if you watch the replay,
you kind of see her ankle.

That's what, that's what scared
me, because you kind of see

her foot, twist a little.

And I, and I think it's all
was purely just the momentum

of her stopping on a dime.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah, because your body,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: yeah.

But seeing that little thing,
my initial gut as I was watching

it on tv, I was like, and then

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
that's the beauty of being in the stadium

sometimes is you don't see the up close.

Oh shit.

Moments like that.

Because I was like, you dweeb, why
do you think that's nothing happened?

What are you talking about now?

I understand.

Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: it from,
especially from the TV angle, it, I saw

it right away and I was just like, oh no.

But then you know,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
And then the ball's in

the back of the net.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: ball's
in the back of the night and

I'm just like, holy shit,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: let's go.

And you know, at that point it
was one to zero, like that was the

first goal of the entire match.

an entire match that was flowing really

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
It was so fast.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: so
it, it was a great release.

It was a great goal and it was at a
great point in where, like we just

had, we just had little misses.

We were off by

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Mm-hmm.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: single time.

But you knew that like
weren't letting up, which was

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
No

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: And you
gotta say Elle was, head coach for

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
good on the pitch, that's for sure.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: 'cause, slay
was, had a red card was not there.

So,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
I will never get over.

Cassandra calling him Slay in the Discord.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: so

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

But.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: was an amazing
match, positives after all of this.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Positives is that we jumped, so we went

from fourth place to ninth place to eighth
place and now we're tied again for fourth.

The only thing is goal differential
san yeah, San Diego has a plus five.

We have, but we're in the positive again,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: plus.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
we're plus one

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: plus one.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
be plus two, but I'm okay with plus one.

but no, it's, it feels good
to have a team that kind of is

getting their shit together.

And I say kind of because who knows
what's happening with coaching, but I

think the general consensus is we start
Katie Zel, you bring Christen Press in.

Shocking.

and you remember who your team
is and then everybody says yay.

Especially 'cause Sid
is back with the team.

She wasn't on the game day roster,
but she was at the game on Friday and

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
she's been taken off of the,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah, she's like at training.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: essentially.

Yeah.

she's been taken off 'cause
like she's been on the, the,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Player ability availability report.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yes,
the player availability report,

every week because of her leave.

but she's now officially off of that.

So the only players we have on that,
from this last game was June and, Allie.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

And then, happy Mother's Day
to everybody who celebrates.

If you have not yet watched the
BFFR episode of like from this last

week, it was filmed obviously before
everything was savvy, but go watch it.

It is wonderful.

Allie asked Sid a million questions
about parenting and like being a

mom and being a mom and a player.

And it is a wonderful conversation
between friends and Sid.

I mean, they're both hilarious, but
Sid is so dry and she's so funny.

Highly recommend it.

Even I watched it earlier today.

And we're just like, yep.

That tracks that tracks.

Yes.

Yes.

Like I, I see that to be true.

but yeah, we, after the game, we put up
clean sheet press goal, we got the clean

sheet that we wanted, that Angie deserved.

so yeah, it was, it is a
bittersweet win, that's for sure.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
a bitter, bittersweet win.

bittersweet afterwards

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: a.

Not very many responses, and
I think that's just due to the

mixed emotions that was happening.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
The shock that everybody was sitting in.

Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Ethan did come
back, with our post game, haiku, which

we appreciate, you know, at, especially
when things kind of go bad or, or you, you

have a shock or you know, whether it be
personal or social or whatever it may be.

At times you just need
a little bit of normalcy

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Mm-hmm.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: we appreciate
him coming through with the haiku for

us, which was press Owning the Box
setups throughout the first taking

a knee or taking knee for King.

I, I don't want to screw

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Don't add another syllable to legal.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: yeah.

so again, I savvy in
everybody on everybody's mind.

Alicia, she's claiming the,
the CP 23 seconds, and really

big emotional experience.

I actually saw Alicia

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

Yeah.

Alicia and her husband were on the
broadcast and Mario sent a screenshot to

the Discord, and they looked so stressed.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: They, it
was, so, it was their reaction to,

the press goal that was taken away.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: So I was like,
I, I saw it and I was like, that's Alicia.

And I went back and I was
like, so yeah, that was fine.

And then, Joe, if I break out my
emotions, ecstatic for the win.

I think we should have
had another goal or two.

But with SAVI going down at the somber
win, she'll be in our prayers tonight.

And yes.

And then we, you know, same,
Comments with, Instagram.

Jeff came in with somber win, but
looks like King is recovering good

win for what they had to play through,
especially, with that second goal

after being, the game, not stopping.

and Zach came in with CP 23
and, and Alyssa Thompson flew

like angels in the stands.

wings for Savvy.

are sending good juju
and then heart hands.

So yeah, I think overall we know,
we know what our, what everybody was

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah, it was just

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: the
emotions everybody had so.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
big ups and like I posted on

the, the casual FC account, like
from the game, stop what you're

doing and send some up for savvy.

Like it was the kind of thing,
nobody knew the severity,

nobody knew what was going on.

We just knew it was really,
really, really, really bad.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: trying to give as
best an update I could from the broadcast.

But you know, even the

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah, they didn't have any information and

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: have information.

So,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
no

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: you know,
best information I could give was

from the camera angles, which good
on them, that they weren't like

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
all up in it.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: about it

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: up in it.

you know, they cut away like once
or twice to just kind of check in,

but there wasn't any like zoom in.

It was a very wide shot, very
we're not gonna get in there.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
There's, there's been a general

like shift throughout sport of
when somebody is badly injured.

It used to be like, how close
can we get the camera to this

crisis and like trauma porn?

And now it's this is happening.

We're gonna cut to the booth
because you don't need to see

this and nobody needs to like you.

The person doesn't need all
these extra people watching.

You don't need to see it.

We know something bad is
happening and we'll let you

know what happens when we know.

And I appreciate this so much.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: and also that
doesn't need to exist out there for

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: forever.

It's now gonna be like on the internet and

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
exactly.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: so no.

So

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: job on
the broadcasting team, with that.

But with that, we are running so long on
this episode, so if you are still here,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Thank you.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: And let's
preview, bay FC up at PayPal Park.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Okay.

Really, before we get into it,
Mario, you have to say the thing.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: this is match
number two for us of the San Andreas Cup.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
He told me he was only gonna say

it once and then he almost forgot.

So for those of you who are new,
the San Andreas cup is Mario's

tournament that he's created for
himself and maybe one other person,

but that other person is not me.

which essentially,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
and a website, but yeah,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
But it's essentially the

matchups of the California team.

So Bay FC, us, and San Diego
as it stands right now.

but yeah, let's talk about this matchup.

It's gonna be weird because
Bay FC is like tumultuous.

I think that's a good way to put it.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: a
good, that's a good word.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah, it's a, it's a good one.

It's like a 50 point Scrabble word.

So we got through this week.

I hope everybody on the team's doing okay.

Honestly, I hope everybody
in the league's doing okay.

Like the Bay FC folks were stressed
because Savvy played there.

Really quick, I didn't mention this
earlier, but big ups to Utah, Alex,

LoRa, like everybody who just brought the
teams together at the end of the game.

it was like a big prayer
circle and it was really sweet.

my little soccer buddy who I will not
name because I don't wanna embarrass

her, she's becoming a teenager almost.

ask like what it happens if
somebody's like praying and

you're not super religious.

And I'm like, in a situation like
this, it doesn't matter because

the intent is what matters.

And all that is, is putting good
energy out to help that person.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Keeping
them in your thoughts that,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah, it's, it's to convey

that like everybody is hoping
that they're gonna be okay.

Whether you're religious,
you're spiritual, you believe

in the stars, whatever it is.

That's what you're channeling.

And she was just like, oh, okay, dope.

Like cool.

And I'm just like, okay, it's fine.

And I, I explained like my grandma
used to call it storming the heavens

of just if you have prayers, send them.

If you have well wishes,
send them whatever it is.

It doesn't matter but you send it.

And that's exactly what both teams did.

And like honestly the whole crowd,
like the energy shift was insane.

just obviously 'cause it
was stressful for everybody.

And while like it's because I'm so tired,
my eyes like won't stop leaking now

I get over my emotions just a smidge.

And my body's like he, that's cute.

But we got through the week.

I hope the team's doing okay.

I hope the b, f, C folks are doing okay.

the medical team.

Shit everybody.

I hope everybody's just hanging in there.

It's been a weird week, that's for sure.

But we got through it.

We're getting through it.

In regards to Bay FC, there's been
weird coaching rumors of like bad

vibes, bad locker room, bad situation,
but I don't know, nobody knows.

I don't, I haven't looked into it, but
they're also, that hasn't been too much

to talk about since the initial like
accusation, so who knows about that.

But Bay FC is in that weird place.

It very similar to the
way Angel City has been.

They're beautiful on paper.

Like every possible good player, good
puzzle piece for the team is there.

They just haven't found it yet.

not everything has clicked, but when
it happens, it's gonna be like what

we're doing this season of holy shit.

Got it.

And, and we've seen that from
BFC over the last couple years.

Like Rachel Kanji is insane.

Is insane.

Like you have these players
that you're like, what?

What?

How do you do this all the time?

But.

Once everything clicks for them,
it's going to be big in the

same way it was for Orlando.

Like Gotham, like whenever you see
that team that's been struggling and

like kind of like up and down and, and
riding that rollercoaster and all of a

sudden it just settles and everything
goes c clunk and clicks into place.

Bet all bets are off.

So I could, I could talk about
their whole roster, frankly.

I'm gonna talk a little bit about a few
people, but Silkowitz, who's their keeper

actually trains with our old keeper, coach
Dan Ball and Angelina in the off season.

So they know each other very well.

It's kind of like the DD heritage, Kalin
Sheridan friendship of you can only,

you have to practice with other keepers.

Like you have to hone
your skills that way.

iron sharpens iron kind of thing.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: you
they gotta do keeper wars.

They gotta

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
that would be amazing.

That would be so dope.

but she's a fantastic keeper.

She is.

She was like underrated and
then all of a sudden very good.

So it was like, oh, okay, cool.

Good for you.

Carly Lama is a forward who played
at Cal, and I believe there's

overlap with her and Angelina at Cal.

That's one thing I forgot to
look up 'cause I got distracted.

But she has two goals this season.

The first one I believe was
opening, opening weekend, or that

might have been somebody else,
but bangers, like she's a threat.

She's a scoring threat.

They have a million scoring
threats on their team.

There's Abby Doll Camper,
there's Cap, Caprice side Asco.

Like I, I could easily talk about
everyone, but I'm very curious to

see how their defense shapes up
because they now have Emily Menez

and Kelly Hubley Hubley or Hubley.

I never remember, but.

They played together for a long time.

Oh my, my dishwasher's done.

That's the LG song in case you
don't have an LG appliance.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yep.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
but Emily Mangas and Kelly

Hubley have played together
for a long time in Portland.

There's a lot of chemistry that's
already there going into Bay.

So I'm curious to see how their
defense tightens up as they re re

coagulate like they regel together
and with the newer players.

Yeah, we're getting big words tonight.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
so that's curious.

And Bay FC is it's hard because
they are so, it's the same thing

I've been saying about Angel City.

They're so good on paper.

It doesn't always click on the pitch
for reasons we don't understand.

But I don't count them out.

So like we said last week, angel
City has to play Angel City Soccer.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
You can't play up, you can't play

down, you have to play your game.

And this is that like situation.

But yeah, that's, that's the BFC roundup.

I, I didn't, I wanted to talk a lot more
about it, but after everything with Savvy,

I was like, listen, you get what you get

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: yeah, yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
and

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: we're

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
we're going long, long.

Yeah.

And then for Angel City, it's
gonna be interesting because our

back lane's changing, which is
like the epitome of Angel City.

This time of the year, this
time of this season, something

happens to our back line.

No, no shade, obviously to Paige,
to Sarah, to ma to anybody who's

gotten hurt the last four years.

It's not your fault.

but I'm assuming that Megan Reed's
gonna be the, the center back to

step in as like a true center back.

So that's gonna shift a little bit.

She's more of a physical defender.

She doesn't play as high up as SAVI did.

So it'll be interesting to see
how her and Sarah kind of like

rea reassert their chemistry and,
and find that, pattern again.

'cause they had it for
a season and a half.

So it's just a matter of okay,
we gotta figure this out again.

But

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: In a week.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah, in a week we'll be okay.

But, like I said, she is an EMT.

She's so steady, so calm, so like chill.

Like she's very zen in that matter.

Like she's very.

In the same way that Sarah Gordon is
like very calm, but also very assertive

and very like in your face on the pitch.

Megan is very calm and very
assertive, but very quiet about it.

She'll body check you into the
sun and then be like, oh my bad.

sorry, and then keep going.

But she was in a, an Iron woman.

She was our first Iron woman

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
the inaugural season because

Paige was out or Sarah was out,
and then everything with Paige.

So she like held our, our
back line pretty much.

So that's Megan Reed.

Thank you for all your hard
work and your sacrifice.

Megan Reed, for those who don't
know, she stopped playing.

Soccer after college became
an a MT did all that.

San Diego and LA are the expansion teams.

She's playing rec soccer with her
firefighter and EMT friends and

they're like, why are you so good?

What is this?

And they're like, you should try out.

And she's L-O-L-J-K.

They're like, no, no,
no, you should try out.

And she said, fine.

So she goes to the wave open, tryouts outs

is there, they don't sign her.

Angel City goes, Hey girl, what's up?

And that's how we got Megan Reed
the, the long and short story of

Megan Reed's history in soccer.

but yeah, and she got a
dog, so that's super cool.

And then we have Alyssa Thompson
who's just homegrown, genuine,

pure, like unbridled talent.

And she's truly a phenom.

She's amazing to watch.

She's so much fun.

We've talked a lot about the worry
that I think all of us over 30, 35

have of like you're running box to box.

Let somebody else do that job.

But it's so fun to see
her with the audacity.

She started with straight out of high
school, less fear, more confidence.

She's just, she's just doing
a great job this season.

She's in the running for
Golden Boot with Riley Tiernan.

they're both trailing as stare because
a stare from Gotham is having a

fricking insane, bonkers scoring season.

And good for her.

She's terrifying.

but I love her.

And so Alyssa is just so fun to watch.

She, like I said, she's homegrown talent.

She's from Studio City, like she's
an LA girl, which is always fun.

And then because some people didn't
know who Chris and Press was before

Angel City came up, I will not name
names, but it is somebody in this room.

I will be honest.

I,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: I'm not there.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
who, who is this

in this podcast recording room.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Oh, damn.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
but I'm not a, like a pre super fan.

I just think they're both
great on their own return.

For those who don't know pre
is Kristin Pre and Tobin Heath.

So those who know, know lots of insider,
wo So talk tonight, but in 2020, right

before four milliseconds before Covid
happened, she believes is happening.

Sby Salazar is on the call and this is
like the greatest call in recent soccer.

I think Christen Press is
playing for the national team.

We're playing England
in the she Believes cup.

This is like the after
2019 World Cup tournament.

Four seconds before Covid hits
and everything shuts down.

Christen Press scores.

The nastiest goal, like similar
to the nastiness we saw.

On Friday, like one of those oh my God.

Oh, ah, that person has a
family, like one of those goals.

But his call is just Christen
Press, what have you done?

There's shirts made that are still
available for sale on breaking tea.

Go Getchu one.

Like it is such an iconic call
that we'll have to get the video

and repost it on Instagram.

'cause it is, it's just so good
because it's Christen Press in her

element of just right, like I feel
like Christen Press is so chill and

so mild mannered and calm men Nice.

And everybody thinks she's lovely and
then she gets on the pitch and she,

yeah, that's how she portrays herself.

And then it's but, and then you know
when a cat is like kind of annoyed

but playing with another cat and then
just raises the paw and is like ba ba.

That's how that feels.

That's a Christen Press goal.

Where?

Where she's hard pass.

No, like I'm scoring now.

Thank you.

The curve on the ball, the be like, Ugh.

That goal is forever implanted in my head.

I looked at Eva after she scored
on Friday and I just went,

Christen Press, what have you done?

And we're just screaming.

Everybody's going insane.

Like it was so good.

But Christen's role in the national
team became what they called a

super sub or a game changer because
of reasons no one understands.

Same thing as to what's happening right
now with her playing time in Angel City.

Nobody understands, but her
ability to come off the bench and

just like score, score, score is.

So difficult to articulate.

Like it's so difficult to, to talk
about because it, it's the way, like

if you're a baseball fan, somebody
going from a starting pitcher to a

reliever is very difficult because
your role completely changes.

You're no longer fresh outta the
locker room on the pitch, ready to go.

Your goal, like your mission
is to come off the bench.

So your warmup is different.

Your activations are different.

Like getting your body ready is different.

Your goal is to come off the bench
and make a difference immediately.

It's not like you have the first
10 minutes of the game to like

really get your body going.

It is zero to 900.

You know,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: The, I
mean, in the past, how they'd be

using her, you've got three minutes

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
you have

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: to do.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
14 seconds before the whistle is blown

to change the outcome of this game.

Like what?

Look, what happened when
you put her in for 30?

Oh my god.

A miracle.

She scored twice this.

The goal they called back is similar
to the June goal that they called back.

Like, how dare you?

That goal still counts in my heart, but
I have a feeling Angel City's gonna come

out, with a mission, and I don't wanna say
necessarily something to prove or a chip

on their shoulder, but with a different,
a different North Star because now they

have a different thing to play for.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yes.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
And

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: there's,

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
I,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: I

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
I,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
gonna come for it.

I, I, I think it's gonna be tough though.

if we, if everything went according
to plan and the team that was fielded,

last week is the same one this week,
then like all, all gears oiled up

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yes.

Yes.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: With what
has happened and the staffing fielding

changes that they're gonna have to do.

We've, we've talked about
it like, we don't know how

in sync they have been through practice.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: they they
could be, they could be locked in

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
It also helps that both Sarah and

Megan are a little bit older, so
they understand okay, we have to,

we have to lock this in today.

Essentially this drops Wednesday.

It's Tuesday right now.

Like they're probably at
training today just like you.

Good.

Cool.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: yeah.

No, no.

They, they, they, I think they've got each
other and really, I, I think Megan was

the one that was just kind of coming back
from like a little bit of an injury plus

savvy being, fresh and like all of that.

so I don't doubt they're
going to, click and

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: soon,
but it's just a matter of

look like we've talked about.

Gameplay minutes and practice minutes.

Right.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yes.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: minutes
are going to be, they're gonna be

jelling, they're gonna be looking good.

And then once we get into gameplay mode,
you know, the plan can only work so long.

so hopefully, hopefully that is not a, a
big of a factor, you know, as it can be.

And we can mitigate that and then
really play that we need to play.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah, I think we will,

I think we'll settle in.

Probably have a rocky 10, 15 minutes
and then it'll just be like, okay, cool.

We like, we're, we're okay again.

when it comes to playing BFC,
we have lost to them twice.

We beat them in the summer cup, but
it feels weird that we lost them.

We lost them in the home opener last
season, and we lost them in BFC.

Both of them were one zero and late
in the game, if I remember correctly.

they weren't losses of
just are are you serious?

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: Yeah.

Also Bay a FC had a really weird

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yes.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
they had no draws whatsoever.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: or they

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah.

And they were very hot and then they were
very cool then They were very strange.

So we're kind of riding the weird
vibes this week, and I think

it's just gonna be a weird game.

I'll be at Disneyland, we're going
for my mom's birthday on Friday and

Saturday, so even I will probably
be in line watching the game.

but yeah, we'll see.

We'll see what, what, Saturday brings.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: yeah.

all right, well we are finally
at that point in the podcast.

So, yes, the, just to recap match is going
to be Saturday, May 17th against Bay FC

up in PayPal at PayPal Park in San Jose.

it's gonna be a 7:00 PM kickoff.

It's gonna be on i on
TV for TV and streaming.

So you're probably gonna be
able to watch it at a bar.

it's gonna be on iHeartRadio if you
can't watch it and you wanna listen,

there is an official A CFC watch
party that's going to be at Watch Me

Sports Bar down in Long Beach, go.

It's gonna be a fun

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Just go.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133:
just, it's just awesome.

Just go.

especially, especially
if you're in the area.

If you're in the area you have
no, you have no reason not to.

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
Yeah,

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: there you

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:
and I didn't mention this earlier

'cause it was very serious when we
were first talking about this, but

it's also opening weekend for the WNBA.

So watch me's gonna be popping.

If I honestly, if we weren't gonna be
at Disneyland, I would be like, let's

all go to watch me and drag my whole
family because it's gonna be lit.

It's gonna be so much fun.

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: So, yes, with

ang--puppet-person-_1_05-13-2025_220132:

friend, 'cause her voice is like this.

We would see the number pop up
and we would just reject the call.

I'm like, you're spending your fricking
hard earned quarters on this shit.

To hear my dumb ass voice say,
thank you for calling Big five.

go away

mar_1_05-13-2025_220133: I don't
